Closed for 2021 blueberry season

We are closed for the 2021 blueberry season. The last day we were open this year was Tuesday, August 3. We appreciate all the families who come to our farm to pick blueberries. We hope to see you next year.

   Aug 02

We are open Monday and Tuesday August 2 and 3 from 8 till 4:30. We are closed on Wednesdays. We will probably be open Thursday, Aug 5 but it would be best to check and make sure we are open at that time.

   Jul 24

Closed till Friday

We are now closed until Friday, July 30. When we open again we will begin the 2nd pick. The berries will run smaller than the first time around. There are many berries in the upper parts of the bushes where they escaped the frost last spring.

   Jul 05

Pick your own blueberries

You may pick your own blueberries beginning Monday, July 12. We will be open from 8 till 4:30, except that we are closed on Sundays and Wednesdays. The price is $2.69 per pound for pick your own blueberries. Sometimes the berries get picked faster than they can ripen and we have close for a few days.

COVID-19

TAMMEN TREEBERRY FARM
COVID-19 PROTOCOLS FOR 2020 TREE SEASON
As we enter into this Christmas tree cutting season, we must remember that there is an elevated risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public setting where people are present. We cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed but we can guarantee that we are taking precautions for the safety of our families, our employees and their families and for you and your family.
WHAT WE WILL DO
We will start with daily health checks of our employees, frequent sanitizing of surfaces, sanitizing of saws between customers, frequent hand washing/ hand sanitizer use. We will all be wearing masks and practicing social distancing as much as possible
Our restrooms will be available and serviced and sanitized frequently throughout the day. There will be hand sanitizer available at both checkout stations.
We will have Credit/Debit card terminals available for curbside payment. We will also accept cash and checks
WHAT YOU CAN DO
DO not come if you have been exposed to COVID-19 within the past 14 days or have any symptoms (including fever, shortness of breath, cough). We typically are open several weeks. Please contact us if you need to come later due to quarantine. Weekdays have much fewer people on the farm.
Wear your mask upon entering the farm for check-in and getting a saw, waiting in line for shake and baling and upon entering any buildings (restroom, farm office), and in any situation that inhibits social distancing
Keep your own sanitizer in your car for use by your family as needed
Maintain social distancing between family groups
Be careful where you drive and park on the farm. Avoid getting stuck requiring close interaction with others to get you out. Do not drive around barricades
Picnic tables are available for your use if needed. Bring and use your own table covering and follow Tier 3 mitigation of 10 people or less in your group with social distancing
KEEP SAFE AND ENJOY THE CHANCE TO BE OUTSIDE WITH YOUR FAMILY MAKING MEMORIES AS YOU FIND YOUR 2020 CHRISTMAS TREE
HAVE A BLESSED HOLIDAY SEASON AND A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR

Choose and cut your own Christmas tree

You may choose and cut your own Christmas tree beginning the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 27. Starting then, we will be open daily from 8 till 4:30. The price is $60 for any tree you choose and cut yourself. If you would like the tree shaken and baled, there is a $7 charge for that. We ask that you maintain social distancing of 6 or more feet between family groups. When that is not possible, such as by the shakers and balers, we ask that you wear a mask.

   Aug 14

Closed for 2020 blueberry season

We are now closed for the 2020 blueberry season. In a typical year, the blueberry season begins around mid-July and lasts 3 or 4 weeks. We appreciate everyone who comes to pick blueberries on our farm. We hope to see you next year.

   Aug 12

ComEd’s estimated time to restore power turned out to be in error. The electricity is back on. We are closed through Thursday. We will open again on Friday, August 14 from 6:30 till 8 AM for senior citizens and immunocompromised individuals, from 8 to 4:30 for the general public. The price is $2.65 per pound for pick-your-own blueberries. We ask that you wear a mask in the shed and on the trailer if you ride it to the field. A mask will probably not be necessary in the field as you will probably be able to maintain social distancing. Friday might be the last day we are open this season, please check later.
